The modern ceremony of the Blessingway is built on an ancient concept: that a woman ready give birth, be it her first birth, or her fifth, is about to go on an amazing journey, that will challenge her physical, emotional and spiritual boundaries. A journey that will forever change how she sees herself, and the world around her.
A Blessingway focuses on the mother-to-be, drawing on the strength, stories and wisdom of special women in her life to prepare her for the coming birth. It can be a compliment to, or replace completely, a conventional baby shower.
It is a chance for women to gather and connect around what was, traditionaly, a time of great power and transformation for all women in a community. It is a time to celebrate life.
Heart of Birth is pleased to offer Blessingway planning services, suitable for women in any walk of life. I take special care to plan a ceremony that is personal, respectful, and honors the mother-to-be's traditions and faith.
While a Blessingway celebrates the mother, and she is often involved in the planning, the primary person is often her mother, sister or friend, so that many of the key elements of the Blessingway can be a supprise.
Because of the personal nature of a Blessingway ceremony, pricing for services is based on several simple 'packages', which you choose following a free informal meeting.
